The software offers you the possibility of switching between various developer-created skins. It might not be much, but the colors of the interface will change a little. The FastStone Image Viewer application isn't used to remove the flash shadows from the perimeter of a portrait. It will only allow you to open images and see their contents. To remove the flash shadow, another application is required, one that has the capability of modifying the graphical elements.
This is probably a false positive meaning that the antivirus solution threats the package as infected although it's not. I've downloaded the software from its official website and installed it while having BitDefender installer and everything was normal. The antivirus wasn't triggered and FastStone Image Viewer installed correctly.
Redownload the software from its official website and install it, then add it to the exception list in case the antivirus detects it as bad.
