FastStone Image Viewer is intended to overcome some of the disadvantages of Windows built-in image viewer, mainly because this program allows a much faster browsing through your pictures.
The program has a straightforward interface. One of its panels lets you navigate through the folders in a tree-view style. Another panel shows thumbnails of the pictures in the current folder. Likewise, you can preview the selected picture, and double-clicking on a thumbnail opens its full-screen view.
The tool is also useful if you need to make small changes to your picture. Thus, besides such common operations as cropping, rotating and resizing, the program supports adding effects, such as Border Effects, Framemask, Watermark, Bump Map and Sketch. Additionally, it can correct imperfections using the Clone and Heal tool. Luckily, it also lets you rename batches of pictures and even convert them to other formats. You can also import images from a scanner and capture them from your computer screen. Finally, it makes it easy to share pictures with other users via emails.
All in all, FastStone Image Viewer has the main advantages of displaying pictures with practically no delay and supporting virtually all image formats. However, the application is no match for other more sophisticated tools in terms of image editing.
Pros
- It shows images with no delay
- It’s easy to use
- It supports virtually every image file type
- It allows basic editing
- It’s free for home users
Cons
- It doesn’t have as many features as other more sophisticated programs
I love this program soooo much. The only thing that is a pity is that themes cannot be downloaded like any other image viewer programs, and you guys should change that or tell those that make FSIW to offer downloadable themes, plain or drawn ones.
One of the best free photo editing software i have ever seen. The best feature is removal of shadows and carrying out multiple edits of multiple files at a timeEagerly waiting for Analysis Android version
Fast, lightweight, it's simple when you want it to be and powerful when you need to do anything beyond basic edits. I used to be an Irfanview fan but Faststone is even better in my opinion.
